8 of 33 Day Consecration to St. Michael
Day 8
Begginers Prayer
Having made the Sign of the Cross and
kneeling preferably before the
Blessed Sacrament or the image of
Saint Michael the Archangel,
raising your heart to God, who is present,
and bowing deeply in spirit,
you will say every day:
Act of Contrition
My Lord Jesus Christ, true God and true man,
I am heartily sorry for having
offended You; I firmly resolve never to sin again,
to abstain from all occasions
of sin, to go to confession and do penance.
I offer You, Lord, my life, works,
and labors in satisfaction for all my sins.
Amen.
Daily Prayer:
Lord God of heaven and earth, God of Angels,
Archangels, and Principalities; God of Powers,
Virtues, and Dominions; God of Thrones,
Cherubim, and Seraphim;
who ceaselessly praise and bless
Your Holy Name and fulfill the commands of
Your sovereign Majesty, surrounding
Your exalted Throne, and offering You,
as a sweet-smelling aroma,
the incense of our prayers,
which we now address to You,
we humbly beg You to accept.
We beseech You,
through the glory and intercession
of the glorious Saint Michael,
that You deign to grant us Your assistance,
and keep us safe from the snares,
deceits, and power of Satan and
all infernal spirits.
May God arise, and may His enemies
be destroyed through Jesus Christ,
Our Lord. Amen.
Day 8
St. Michael’s Charity
There are countless occasions in both the Old and
New Testaments in which the charity and protection that
God Our Lord has for mankind is mentioned, employing
the Angels to assist them. Saint Michael is the one who
intervenes in all this, whether by ordering his Angels the
benefits they are to provide for mankind, or the dangers
from which they are to protect them, or by himself exercising
these beneficial works of mercy, protection, and charity,
especially in the most important and representative
situations, in which the Angels command with words of
their own authority, or make promises in the name of God
and Lord Himself, as if He Himself were speaking in
person or manifesting Himself.
This greatness and excellence belong to Saint Michael,
as God's prime minister. Thus, Saint Michael was the
chief of those three Angels invited by Abraham,
who represented God Himself and spoke for Himself;
This is the same one who stopped when they left,
after the meal, on the road to Sodom,
prolonging his conversation with the Patriarch, and the
other two went ahead to carry out the orders they had
received to free Lot and burn Sodom and the other cities
of the Pentapolis valley.
In the same way, this heavenly Prince came to the aid
of the other Prince of Israel, the one who guided and
preceded the people of God as they emerged from slavery.
On this occasion, he manifested himself in the pillar of fire
that illuminated them and, as they crossed the Red Sea,
stood between the chosen people and Pharaoh's army to
defend the Israelites. Later, he favored them admirably on
their long journey through the desert; and he did the same
with many other figures in the Old Testament.
Let us give thanks to God for the favors he has always
bestowed upon mankind through the glorious Prince
Saint Michael.
Example
When Saint Aubert, Bishop of Avranches,
built the Sanctuary of Saint Michael on the
rock called The Tomb, it so happened that there
was no drinking water at that place for the needs
of the canons who were to care for the Sanctuary.
The Saint began to pray and turned to Saint Michael
to remedy that need. The glorious Archangel,
full of charity, appeared to Saint Aubert and
revealed to him that there was a spring that
no one had seen in that place.
This spring later became an abundant fountain.
Thus does the kind Archangel listen to those who
come to him with faith and true devotion.
Final Prayer for Every Day
O God, our refuge and strength!
We supplicantly implore your mercy,
so that through the intercession of the ever-
Immaculate Virgin and our Mother, Mary,
and of the glorious Saint Michael the Archangel,
you may deign to help us against Satan and all other
unclean spirits who infest the world for the
harm of mankind and the ruin of souls.
Cast them into the abyss and remove them
from us forever. Amen.
