About our dear Saint Juan Diego: Saint Juan Diego (feast day December 9) was a humble indigenous man who experienced four apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe in 1531. When the bishop demanded proof of Mary's request to build a church, Juan Diego's tilma miraculously filled with roses and bore the image of Our Lady - an image that still exists today and defies scientific explanation. Though initially considered "just a poor Indian" by society, Juan Diego became the bridge between two cultures and helped millions embrace the Catholic faith. He shows us that God sees our hearts, not our social status.

Reflection: When you feel too ordinary or unqualified for what God is asking of you, how can Saint Juan Diego's example remind you that Mary equips those she calls and that your background doesn't limit God's plans for you?

Care Instructions: Just dust gently with a soft cloth when needed.
