7 of 33 Day Consecration to St. Michael
Day 7
Begginers Prayer
Having made the Sign of the Cross and
kneeling preferably before the
Blessed Sacrament or the image of
Saint Michael the Archangel,
raising your heart to God, who is present,
and bowing deeply in spirit,
you will say every day:
Act of Contrition
My Lord Jesus Christ, true God and true man,
I am heartily sorry for having
offended You; I firmly resolve never to sin again,
to abstain from all occasions
of sin, to go to confession and do penance.
I offer You, Lord, my life, works,
and labors in satisfaction for all my sins.
Amen.
Daily Prayer:
Lord God of heaven and earth, God of Angels,
Archangels, and Principalities; God of Powers,
Virtues, and Dominions; God of Thrones,
Cherubim, and Seraphim;
who ceaselessly praise and bless
Your Holy Name and fulfill the commands of
Your sovereign Majesty, surrounding
Your exalted Throne, and offering You,
as a sweet-smelling aroma,
the incense of our prayers,
which we now address to You,
we humbly beg You to accept.
We beseech You,
through the glory and intercession
of the glorious Saint Michael,
that You deign to grant us Your assistance,
and keep us safe from the snares,
deceits, and power of Satan and
all infernal spirits.
May God arise, and may His enemies
be destroyed through Jesus Christ,
Our Lord. Amen.
Day 7
The Power of St. Michael
Let us consider how Saint Michael has extraordinary power
against Lucifer. This cunning enemy trembles and trembles
when he hears the name of Saint Michael. This mysterious
name is interpreted as: who is like God? With this astonishing
voice, he cast countless rebellious angels from Heaven to Hell,
and the same powerful virtue has always remained in those
mysterious voices. Therefore, when making this invocation,
the heart is filled with courage and Hell with terror.
This generous Archangel loves men so much that, according
to Saint Bruno, Bishop of Siena, he does not cease to fight on
their behalf night and day against the infernal dragon.
He also calls the Angels under his command to fight alongside him,
so that we may not be defeated by our enemies.
Saint Pantaleon the Deacon assures us that Saint Michael
not only grants his pious servants the favor and strength to
resist the temptations of hell, but also comes to fight
personally when he sees one of them strongly attacked
by the devil and exposed to the imminent danger of falling into sin.
Oh, and how great our hope should be, considering that
when we resist the devil, we are not left alone and helpless,
but that God is with us, and Saint Michael is with us as well!
Weak and weak as we are, let us place ourselves under
the protection of Saint Michael, let us take refuge under
his wings and fight resolutely, bearing in mind that,
in this battle with the devil, we are not only defending our souls,
but also the cause of God. And just as Saint Michael,
when he saw this cause outraged by the devil,
came out to defend it, let us also defend it,
and let us not fear,
for the glorious Archangel is ready to help us.
Example
One of the most memorable apparitions of Saint Michael is
the one told in history, made to Saint Aubert, Bishop of
Avranches, on a rock or cliff called La Tumba, located in his
Diocese, in the year 708. When news reached this holy Bishop of
a marvelous event that had occurred at La Tumba, very similar
to that of Monte Gargano, he too, imitating the Bishop of Siponto,
asked his Bishopr for fasting and prayer so that the Lord would
deign to declare his will to him. But he was not as docile as the other
Bishop; Because, although the Lord revealed it to him through very
tangible signs, he stubbornly refused to believe them until he
was severely punished, and this punishment made him sane
and docile. Then he recognized that Saint Michael wanted to be
particularly venerated on that spot, and he built a beautiful
church on the top of the same rock, which he solemnly
dedicated to the Archangel Saint Michael.
Final Prayer for Every Day
O God, our refuge and strength!
We supplicantly implore your mercy,
so that through the intercession of the ever-
Immaculate Virgin and our Mother, Mary,
and of the glorious Saint Michael the Archangel,
you may deign to help us against Satan and all other
unclean spirits who infest the world for the
harm of mankind and the ruin of souls.
Cast them into the abyss and remove them
from us forever. Amen.
