13 of 33 Day Consecration to St. Michael
Day 13
Begginers Prayer
Having made the Sign of the Cross and
kneeling preferably before the
Blessed Sacrament or the image of
Saint Michael the Archangel,
raising your heart to God, who is present,
and bowing deeply in spirit,
you will say every day:
Act of Contrition
My Lord Jesus Christ, true God and true man,
I am heartily sorry for having
offended You; I firmly resolve never to sin again,
to abstain from all occasions
of sin, to go to confession and do penance.
I offer You, Lord, my life, works,
and labors in satisfaction for all my sins.
Amen.
Daily Prayer:
Lord God of heaven and earth, God of Angels,
Archangels, and Principalities; God of Powers,
Virtues, and Dominions; God of Thrones,
Cherubim, and Seraphim;
who ceaselessly praise and bless
Your Holy Name and fulfill the commands of
Your sovereign Majesty, surrounding
Your exalted Throne, and offering You,
as a sweet-smelling aroma,
the incense of our prayers,
which we now address to You,
we humbly beg You to accept.
We beseech You,
through the glory and intercession
of the glorious Saint Michael,
that You deign to grant us Your assistance,
and keep us safe from the snares,
deceits, and power of Satan and
all infernal spirits.
May God arise, and may His enemies
be destroyed through Jesus Christ,
Our Lord. Amen.
Day 13
SAINT MICHAEL DELIVERS FROM DANGERS
God, whose nature is goodness, whose will is power,
and whose works are mercy, as Saint Leo the Pope says,
has arranged and ordained the Holy Angels for the guard
and custody of men, to protect and favor them in the dangers,
temptations, and sufferings of the present life and to inspire
and warn them on their paths, so that they may happily attain
eternal glory.
But if the Holy Angels perfectly fulfill the orders of Our God
and Lord, and communicate with men as much as they
are able, Prince Saint Michael does this in a special way.
He is, like the venerable deacon Pantaleon, who
everywhere frees those who devoutly invoke him from
all visible dangers, brings joy to the churches of faithful
and Catholic peoples, guards Christian kingdoms and
kings; makes the faithful victorious; persecutes his
enemies; preserves his slaves without slander;
He frees the good from the troubles of those who
persecute them; He lifts those who invoke Him from
the rough waves of the sea; He gives fertility to the earth;
He guides those who walk in darkness, He defends those
who are insulted, He comforts those who are afflicted,
He visits the sick; He stands surety for sinners,
He repels the impulses of demons; He extinguishes the
flames of vice and leads us to practice virtue.
Let us implore, then, his intercession to free us from dangers,
to protect us from all disorder and all spiritual and
temporal evil.
Example
While the Blessed Virgin Otingia was on pilgrimage
with other devout women to Mount Gargano dedicated
to Saint Michael, some wicked men sought to attack
them and make them violate their chastity. The Holy
Archangel appeared to them, ordering them to hurry,
for they were at great risk to their soul and body;
and as they were tired, he comforted them and
gave them strength to follow him to safety, and
then disappeared. On another note, a devout person
used to visit the Church of Saint Michael the Archangel
every day early in the morning, and upon seeing it from
afar, she would pray the prayer to the Holy Archangel.
One day, as she was heading toward that church and
praying with great fervor, feeling inspired to overcome
all obstacles that might impede her customary visit,
she was suddenly confronted by a seemingly
insurmountable obstacle, but she overcame it without
difficulty; and she thought she heard Saint Michael
say these words: "Pass, do not be afraid." She continued
forward without hesitation, begging the Lord to send her
two of his guardians, and soon a man appeared who,
without saying anything more than a simple greeting,
accompanied her to the church, where the devotee of
Saint Michael thanked her holy protector for having freed
her from such great danger.
Final Prayer for Every Day
O God, our refuge and strength!
We supplicantly implore your mercy,
so that through the intercession of the ever-
Immaculate Virgin and our Mother, Mary,
and of the glorious Saint Michael the Archangel,
you may deign to help us against Satan and all other
unclean spirits who infest the world for the
harm of mankind and the ruin of souls.
Cast them into the abyss and remove them
from us forever. Amen.
